Founded in the mid 1930s by a small group of dinghy enthusiasts, West Hoe Sailing Club is one of the premier sailing clubs in the Port of Plymouth, with a long and successful history of involvement in small boat racing. The Club has for many years been closely associated with the Royal Western Yacht Club of England, and conducts racing on Thursday evenings throughout the summer from the RWYC premises at Queen Anne’s Battery. Regular racing is organised for the National Squib Class, Charisma Class, Foxterrier Class, and Trapper Class, however, one design racing is also offered for J80s, J24s, and any other small one design keelboat class.
